About Occlio

We're on a mission to transform workplace wellbeing

A letter from our founder

I've been there, and I suspect most of us have. Dreading going into work in the morning. Various factors contribute to it - stuff at home, family pressures - but more often than not, it's the work environment itself.

What employers often see as complaining, not pulling your weight, or just not being up to the task is often a signal that something in the wider work environment needs looking at, not the individual.

There is little doubt that staff absence due to mental and physical ill health has a detrimental effect on both the bottom line of a business, as well as the continuity and atmosphere of companies.

Workplaces are getting better at addressing these concerns and progress has been made. But sometimes the problem is being approached the wrong way around. Most wellbeing or employee engagement programmes put the emphasis firstly on the worker, and secondly offer individualistic solutions - a mental health app here, a gym membership there.

All these are positive steps in the right direction, but on their own they don't address the organisational factors at play. Real change takes leaders and culture-shapers putting wellbeing first, beyond individual initiatives. Without that, the problems of burnout, stress and physical pain will continue to blight the modern workplace.

That's why we, my co-founders and I, built Occlio - to help organisations put wellbeing first, in a way that helps not only the individual but teams and the company as a whole understand the reasons behind absenteeism and address them from a cultural point of view.

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to wellbeing. That's why our tools adapt to the type of work and roles your employees have.

Built on well-defined wellbeing frameworks and ISO standards, Occlio puts you in the driving seat to create change and continuously measure wellbeing across your organisation.
